Copying fees and charges
|
All the reprographic services listed below are zero-rated for VAT
purposes and all charges include postage and packing. All copies will
be in black and white unless otherwise stated.
Per bound volume

There may be a maximum number of pages that can be photocopied. Depending
on the size and condition of the volume, orders over 20 pages may
have to be microfilmed.
Loose material – per bundle

Further pages are charged at 5 GBP per 10 pages
If more than 20 items are ordered, the whole bundle may have to be
copied. Our staff will advise you when this is the case.
Plans: copies from aperture cards

There may be occasions when we are unable to provide copies from plans.
Our staff will advise you when this is the case.
Parchment and vellum documents
Per document 15 GBP
Due to their physical structure, no copying of parchment and vellum
documents is permitted on traditional photocopiers.
Specialised equipment has to be used and conservation staff are often
involved before and after the copying process in order to minimize
risk. This is reflected in the higher price.
Microfilm – copies of existing film
Only whole reels will be copied.
Per reel 40 GBP
Microfilm – from original bound records
Per reel 100 GBP
Each full reel contains approx. 600 images. For example, a full reel
might contain images of 2 volumes containing 250 pages. Only complete
volumes will be filmed.
Microfilm – from original loose documents or bundles
Per reel 150 GBP
Only complete bundles will be filmed. Additional charges may be incurred
for complicated orders.
Photography
We do not provide a photographic service.
Digital copies
We are developing a digital imaging and copy service. Please contact
us if you have any enquiries about the provision of digital images.
Additional charges and incomplete orders
When we have to make an additional charge, we will always contact
you and get your agreement. If we are unable to complete an order,
for example because of damage to the original, we will refund you
for incomplete work. For further information, please contact
