Conservation training

The National Records of Scotland (NRS) does not train conservators although there are sometimes short-term opportunities for conservation students to work with us.

The following organisations run conservation training courses:

The School of Conservation Camberwell College of Arts, London
1 year full-time or 2 years part-time MA in Conservation and 1 year postgraduate diploma in Conservation.

The University of Northumbria Faculty of Arts and Design, Newcastle

2 year post-graduate MA course on the Conservation of Fine Art.

The Archives and Records Association
Certificate in Archive Conservation for conservators already in the Association.
