Vacancies in the National Archives of Scotland

The National Archives of Scotland (NAS) is headed by the Keeper of the Records of Scotland and is staffed by civil servants. It employs about 160 members of staff, including archivists, conservators, ICT and other specialists and adminsitrative staff. Recruitment of staff is carried out through the Scottish Government's Human Resources. Adverts for posts will appear below, in the national press and on the Scottish Government website.

In recent years, the NAS has created (subject to funding) two year-long placements in a junior curatorial grade, aimed specifically at giving experience to people who intend to undertake an archive diploma course, but not to those who have obtained an archive qualification. The two posts are advertised in the spring or early summer. Lists of placement opportunities in various archives, both paid and voluntary, can be downloaded from the Society of Archivists website.

There are currently no vacancies in the NAS.
