The National Records of Scotland (NRS) was established on 1 April 2011 by the amalgamation of the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) with the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS). It is a Non-Ministerial Department.
The NRS is headed by the Registrar General and Keeper of the Records of Scotland, responsible to the Scottish Ministers for its management, performance and future development.
The minutes of corporate meetings are published, including Audit Committee, Management Board, Departmental Planning Group, Local Partnership Board, and Health and Safety Committee.

Meets to discuss the internal and external audits that are
carried out annually and related issues.

Departmental Planning Group
Chaired by the Registrar General and Keeper, this meets monthly as a forum for Divisional Heads and others to discuss key issues affecting the NRS.
