The National Archives of Scotland (NAS) was established on 1 April 1993 as a Scottish Government Agency. The sponsoring department is Tourism, Culture and Sport Division within the Scottish Government Education Department.
The NAS is headed by the Keeper of the Records of Scotland, who is responsible to the Scottish Ministers for its management, performance and future development, within the terms of the Framework Document. The Keeper is also responsible to the Lord President of the Court of Session for the efficient management of the court and other legal records in Scotland.
The minutes of corporate meetings are published, including Audit Committee, Management Board, Branch Heads, Local Partnership Board, Information Systems Planning Group and Health and Safety Committee.
