News: Armistice display

A small exhibition of documents commemorating Armistice Day is on display to the public in General Register House. The exhibition is free of charge and will run until 16 November 2012.

The display includes a Haig Fund silk poppy from the 1920's and wills of servicemen from the First World War. From 6 November 2012 more than 9,000 wills and testaments of soldiers who died during the First World War will become available via ScotlandsPeople for the first time. Service Returns of Deaths from the first and second world wars are already available at ScotlandsPeople.
