From that date all adoption matters will be dealt with by one office. This will improve our client services which presently include:
- Registering current Scottish Adoptions, Scottish Parental Orders and certain Foreign Adoptions.
- Producing current Scottish adoption certificates for newly adopted children.
- Linkage of adopted people with their original birth details by post and in person. This may also include showing the original birth entry in the Scottish birth register.
- Accessing Scottish Adoption court process papers.
A new appointment based interview service will also be introduced to enable adopted people to plan a visit to the Adoption Unit as well as a continuing commitment to offer a service to anyone who comes into the office unannounced.
