News: Can you help?

BBC Radio Scotland are in the process of planning a new genealogy programme called 'Digging Up Your Roots' due to begin broadcasting in January. They are looking for volunteers to talk to them about their experience in family history research using records from the National Archives of Scotland (NAS).

Have you found a will and would like to come to the NAS to see the original?

Have you found through NAS records that your family has a criminal or two lurking in the past?

Have you found that you were related to a Covenanter?

Are you the relative of a famous Scot who can visit the NAS to see their will?

Were you related to a witch?

Are you a researcher or historian who has found something interesting or intriguing in a will?

Are you stuck with your research because you have documents with handwriting you can't make out?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, the BBC would love to hear from you. Phone Rhona Brudenell on 01224 384881 or e-mail rhona.brudenell@bbc.co.uk.

If you are interested in starting your family history research, read our family history page.
