Latest news: extra ‘Flannan Isles Mystery’ workshops mark the Bell Rock 200
To celebrate the bicentenary of the Bell Rock Lighthouse, the National Archives of Scotland is offering 5 additional dates to schools to enjoy ‘The Flannan Lighthouse Mystery’. What happened in the lighthouse in December 1900?

We are also offering a free Flannan Isles Activity Day for families in New Register House, 4 West Register Street, Edinburgh on Wednesday 16 February 2011, where you can find out about life on Scottish lighthouses, investigate stories from the past as revealed in old historical records, and watch a film made by pupils from South Ayrshire who visited the Mull of Galloway lighthouse and interviewed former light keepers and their families.

For more details on the workshops and activity day visit the Scottish Archives for Schools Website
